In celebration of our 90th anniversary, Emily Carr University of Art + Design is pleased to announce the naming of The Faculty of Graduate Studies in honour of our Founding Chancellor Jake Kerr. The naming of The Jake Kerr Faculty of Graduate Studies recognizes Mr. Kerr’s endless support, instrumental leadership, and significant financial contribution to THE BIG IDEA Capital Campaign for the new campus at Great Northern Way.
“Jake Kerr is an inspiring leader,” stated Dr. Ron Burnett, President + Vice-Chancellor, Emily Carr University of Art + Design. “He has been an important first Chancellor for Emily Carr and his influence will be felt for decades to come.”
Today is the day Emily Carr University first opened its doors to students ninety years ago in 1925.
